Cognivia is an independent, open research project. The protocol, analysis, and trial data are public. Any paid tier funds the work; it never puts a student behind a paywall.

Straight answers.
Is it really free for students?
Yes, and deliberately free for low-income learners. Any future paid tier is for institutions, never for a student.
What counts as an active learner?
A learner who answered at least one question in the billing month. Dormant accounts are not billed, so a class of forty that meets weekly is not a class of forty every day.
Do you sell or advertise on student data?
Never, on any plan. Records are pseudonymised, access-controlled, and used only to run the diagnostic. Under-18 data is not processed without verifiable guardian consent.
Can I try the API before paying?
Yes. The demo key works immediately on the stateless endpoints, and a self-serve live key from the console is free to start. See the quickstart.
What if the research finds a null result?
The diagnostic and the Cognitive Passport are useful on their own, whatever the scheduling trial concludes. The measurement layer stands regardless, and the data stays public.
