Trust, data & scientific status

What we hold, protect,
and will not do.

One page, plain language, shared by the research and product sides of Cognivia. If a question is not answered here, the FAQ goes further, and a person is one email away.

What we collect

Two kinds of data, kept separate. Learning records — which answers were right, how long they took, and a confidence rating — are stored under a code, not a name, on access-controlled servers. Account details — a first name and age (and an email if a learner signs up directly, rather than being added by a teacher) — are held only to run the account. We collect nothing beyond what these need, and never sell any of it. The privacy policy lists every field.

Your control

You can withdraw at any time. Your identifiable record is deleted within 30 days, and you can view or remove your data whenever you like. There is no penalty for leaving.

Security posture

  • Served only over HTTPS, with strict transport security.
  • A strict content security policy; no third-party behavioral or advertising trackers.
  • Secrets stay on the server and are never exposed to the browser.
  • Responsible-disclosure contact is published in security.txt and SECURITY.md.

Scientific status

Cognivia is exploratory. A pre-registered trial (OSF 8PJQH) is set up and its analysis plan was fixed before any data; no results exist yet. Participant-derived findings are withheld until enough participants contribute, and no efficacy percentage appears anywhere on the site. The model's thresholds are engineering defaults, seeded from a small pilot and the literature, not validated constants. See the research overview and full method.

Limitations

The pilot is small. The error-type classification is not yet validated by independent raters at scale. No efficacy result exists yet. Every inferred number ships with its uncertainty, and when the evidence is thin the field returns as unknown rather than a guess.

What Cognivia will not do

  • It is not a medical, clinical, or psychological diagnostic, and does not diagnose any condition.
  • It does not claim to understand a person's mind. Its readings are learning signals, not verdicts.
  • It never sells data and never uses it for advertising.
  • It does not present an exploratory score as a grade or a diagnosis.
